Enjoyed Stay In Kells
"Finally back home after 5 days in Kells.
I had a very good time in town and a lot due to the lovely people. I
enjoyed staying at one of your rooms, comfortable, silent, good shower and
kind details like coffee and change of towels."
Joanna, Spain. January 4th 2012
Great Welcome
"Could not get shower to work but that is likely my ineptitude*. Great welcome and hospitality, will come again."
Kevin Sedgwick, England. March 1st 2011 *This particular shower was found to be faulty and was replaced.
Moynalty Steam Threshing
"August each year we come for the threshing. Smiths premisis is located a short drive from the event. If I have one qualm it is the lack of breakfast. However, the rooms are that cheap we go down to the hotel for breakfast and still save money. There is a tea station in each room which is nice to have after a long journey. The bathrooms are always spotless. Its rare to find a place like it. Very Good."
Diarmuid Long, Tralee. August 16th 2010
Croke Park Halfway House
"My family and I stay here every year we travel to Croke Park. Its halfway there. Its a lovely comfortable place, more comfortable than a B & B as its totally private and you can come and go freely without worrying about making excessive noise like if we were staying in someone's home."
Kate Mc Cluskey, Donegal. August 2nd 2009
Recording Studio Weekends
"Myself and the lads always stay in Kells when were up at JAM Recording Studios in Carnaross. Its sort of like an upmarket hostel but you have your own private en-suite rooms. Its right in the middle of Kells so there is no need for a taxi from the nightclub. We will be back!"
Jack Geary, Waterford. April 2008
Last Minute Rooms Near The Headfort Arms
"We attended a wedding in the Headfort Arms this weekend. We left it late to book a room in the Hotel and we panicked when we were told it was booked out. We tried several B and B's in the Kells area but no luck. We arrived in Kells and saw this place from the door of the Hotel! Luckily for us, there had been a cancellation yesterday morning. Not only did we get comfortable and convenient accommodation, we saved some money too! Cheap and cheerful, I am very happy to have found Smiths."
Seamus Mc Sharry, Carrickmacross. August 4th 2007
Touring County Meath
"My wife and I stayed here on recommendation of friends. It was as we expected and more. Awesome accommodation in the center of the village of Kells with the bus stop only down the street. We don't do the traditional Irish breakfast thing as were both vegetarians so it was nice to have a place that didn't automatically charge us for it. A great spot for touring County Meath from, and the owner couldnt have been more helpful. Thanks Brigid, you ROCK!!!"
Rob Maahs, Washington D.C. USA. July 2006
Value
"Good value for money."
C. Flynn, Birmingham. April 10th 2011
Family Reunion in Kells
"We have a family get together each September in Kells and a group of us stay in Smiths guest rooms. We get a great deal as we've been coming back for four years now. Private, clean, comfortable rooms, centrally located, better than competitive prices. What more could we ask for. See you next September!"
Jean Nolan, Naas. September 26th 2010
Meath Fishing Breaks
"My friend and I booked into here for 5 days in June of this year. We were fishing in the north east of Ireland. We both liked Smiths very much. Nick the manager was very helpful when we needed to find local knowledge about fishing permits. The rooms were spacious and bright. Nick put a small fridge in our room. It was not typical of our time in Ireland as Smiths was cheap! Ireland is worth it for the fishing always and we will return. We will return to Smiths in Meath too."
Hans Uhlemann, Denmark. June 2010
Golf Break In Meath
"Our golf society 'The Jolly Boys' go on a trip away each May bank holiday. This year we came to Meath. We played Headfort in Kells as well as Kileen Castle. We based ourselves in Smiths accommodation in Kells. We couldn't have gotten a better place. The rooms are above a quiet bar and a bookies. This was a great place to retreat to with the lads after the days golf. It beats the hell out of staying in somebody's house ( B&B ) as we could have the craic without worrying about returning late. If we are back in Meath, we will be back in Smiths."
Derek Mc Gearty and The Jolly Boys. May 2009
Workers Staying in Kells
"I had subcontracted a job in Kells and needed accommodation for 8 lads. My company is on a strict budget. I spotted this place on John Street. When Brigid showed me the rooms I knew this was exactly what I was looking for. Brigid gave me a great price as the lads stayed for two months. If we have work on in the Meath area again, Smiths is where our guys will be staying."
Ruth Mc Anne, Cork. October 2007
Wedding in Kells
"We stayed here for a wedding in the Headfort hotel. we were pleasantly surprised. Rooms bright and airy-clean and comfortable at a fraction of hotel prices. It was nice to be able to sleep in the next day. Would highly recommend it."
